A Moment About Choices - Before You Start

So we've talked about several things so far: 1) A change in perspective - the Mental Step, and 2) Visualization of what your new path will look like.

Now is the moment for a wee bit of caution: Not All Choices are REAL.

Lolol  Now I know you are laughing and asking yourself - what is she talking about, but this is a very good point I'd like you to think about.

Every person that ever bought stock in Amazon, thinks they are buying stock in a business like PG&E - but they are not.  PG&E is a Brick & Mortar business, and Amazon is a Broker business.  PG&E owns property, and tangible business assets.  Amazon owns almost nothing of what it sells.  It simply supplies a Government backed website, where others can sell goods.  They do sell a few things that they produce - such as the Kindle, but that's only at first glance.  If you dig a little deeper, then you discover that Foxconn actually produces the Kindle and Amazon does not own the factories that make the product.

So you are probably wondering how does this have anything to do with "MY" choice.  It has everything to do with your choice.  If you can touch your choice, then it is something to seriously consider.  If you can not touch it, then your consideration should be somewhat reserved and filled with quite a bit of "second opinions."

For Example:  Perhaps your wife says, "I want to be a ballerina."  And she's 45 years old. (Wry Smile). Is it possible?  In a small town, with only one serious ballet corp - Absolutely.  But it comes at a sincere cost of time, effort, nutrition and doctor's vigilant care - and she must already have an Arch, and she must already have 7 years of point work under her belt.  Is it practical - HECK no.  But if this is a dream, and she has no motherly obligations, then it is as probable as Golda Meir becoming President of Israel at 70+.

Tangible dreams may be far-fetched, but with a Mental Step in the Right Direction, Visualization of the Path and then Absolute Dedication - ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!

However, let's talk about the Intangible Path for a moment.  Let's say you want to be an insurance agent for Terrorist Policies, or a stock broker, or a computer hacker, or sell prayers.  Sure anyone can do it, will you be successful in any steady, consistent way? Probably not.  Can you do it - Yes.  Could the industry disappear over night - Absolutely.

So if you ever make the choice to do something intangible - you should REALLY sit down and:

1) Write the pros and cons.
2) Ask for second opinions from everyone you know and don't know - including whoever you think your competition might be.
3) Ask yourself WHY

Choosing to take a path that is different from your present course of action is Incredibly hard, yet Incredibly Satisfying.  So Make certain that it REALLY counts!

This caution is mainly to slow the choosing process down, not to stop it.  Every GREAT THINKER has taken their time in making their choices...

This caution is also to ask you if you "Should" do something.  I think the Zonkey above is beautiful, but was it the right thing to do....?

What Will Your Path Look Like - As you Begin

My first post is about the Mental space before you choose a new path. Consider it more a "How do you choose."

This blog is simple and to the point, "Be okay with the nakedness of your honesty."  It is okay to understand that you require change, you simply are unsure of how to start.  And to be honest, I think it is far more important that you read someone else's blog at this point (See Link Below).  Life is not always about having all the answers, but it is more about knowing where to get sound advice.

http://www.positivelypositive.com/2012/04/07/your-starting-place-does-not-define-you/

So once you know that: 1) Its okay to want change, 2) you are shy about how ugly your start is, then it is even more important to know 3) to focus on where you want to go.

Having a Vision of where you want to go is the glue that inspires your goal.  Vision is the part that help all your path choices (both right and wrong) lead you always to the Vision.  In-other-words, you can make a wrong choice, go down the wrong path and still get to where you want to go - why?  Because the Vision has your focus.

What happens if you stop to smell the Roses?  Have you lost your Vision?  No, your have simply enriched the Journey...

When Beginning - You must take a Mental Step

Changing direction is not really about going North, South, East or West. Changing direction is about understanding yourself well enough that you can now make a new choice.  For example:

I've hesitated for years on having a steady relationship.  I've tried a few times, and then stopped, tried again and then stopped.  Eventually, I found that the men themselves were stopping as much as I was.

When I examined the interaction and exchange of stopping, I realized its because my life is in limbo.  As a Gypsy, your life is the flow of life, nature and the seasons.  As a Citizen, your life is the flow of traffic, and belongings and the burdens that come with belongings (bills, banks and taxes).

When a person in either group lives in limbo, the are simply not moving and it is hard to have a relationship with anyone in that limbo state.  And this meditative, incubative Limbo state is not a bad state, nor a good state.  It is simply a necessary state so that the person can mature and be ready for entering the flow again.

Changing becomes an Elegant choice of what Path to take....

A beautiful concentration of focus....
